Professor Alison Bowes

Alison Bowes was most recently the Chair in Dementia Research at the Dementia Services Development Centre and is now Head of the School of Applied Social Science and Professor in Sociology. Her research interests include the provision of services to older people and people from minority ethnic groups.

She has particular expertise in qualitative methods and working with socially excluded populations and also carries out interdisciplinary research on funding long term care for older people.

Professor Emma Reynish

Emma Reynish is an NHS consultant physician in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, who trained in geriatric medicine at the University of Toulouse, and she combines her University chair in dementia research with hospital clinical practice running a multidisciplinary memory clinic, and an intermediate care unit in an acute hospital.

She co-ordinated the European Alzheimers Disease Consortium and led a number of European clinical research projects. She was chair of the prevalence group of the EuroCoDe project..
