Laura Paton is taking part in 17 events during 2017 to raise money for the Dementia Services Development Trust. Here is Laura's second update:
So with February came Challenge number 2 of 17, 1700m swim.
I managed to persuade my mum to do this one with me and we set ourselves quite a challenge. I have always loved swimming so this seemed like a good idea… at the time! Also good to give the knees a break for a while!
We challenged ourselves with swimming 1700m in under an hour.
For this one I also called in a favour from my old boss to let us use the great facilities at Cameron House to do the swim. So with their lovely 25m pool, 1700m worked out at just under 70 lengths (we did the 70 just to make sure!).
I managed to complete the challenge in 48:52 and my Mum 53:44, so we both did it in the hour with time to spare at the end!
With not long to go until Challenge 3, its right back on the training plan!
