Visual impairment and dementia

Programme summary

People with dementia often experience issues in communicating effectively with others. Communication problems are often made worse by co-existing sensory difficulties such as visual impairment and the changes associated with dementia.

Participants will gain a valuable understanding of dementia and visual impairment which they can take back to their workplace to inform others and improve the lives of people with dementia.  Practical suggestions will be made as to how the environment can be changed to better meet the needs of people with dementia and visual impairment.
