Laura Paton is taking part in 17 events during 2017 to raise money for the Dementia Services Development Trust. Here is Laura's third update:
March saw me attempt Challenge 3, which was the first 10k of the year.
The run took place at Glasgow Green, on what was supposed to be a wet and windy Sunday morning. However, the sun made an appearance and it was the hottest run I have ever done (you can tell by my purple face)! All the runners were taken aback by the heat.
The training beforehand had all gone really well and I was feeling confident I could get a good time as my fitness is better than it has ever been. The heat on the day dehydrated me really quickly and so I really struggled to keep up a fast pace. My Fitbit and running app both recorded me doing 11k too so I have no idea how far I ran or in what time!
The main thing is I did the challenge and I will make sure I am a bit more prepared for Scotland’s sunny weather at the next one!
Thanks to everyone who has already donated to the JustGiving page and supported me.
