Designers
DSDC is internationally renowned for its work in dementia design, which the centre has been advocating since its inception in 1989.
Dementia design is a recognised non-pharmacological intervention to support someone with dementia. Research has demonstrated that it can improve quality of life for the person with dementia and their care partner, reduce negative responsive behaviours and support abilities for longer. We offer a range of services that can assist those working in the design sector to create environments and products which are supportive for our ageing population and people living with dementia.

Our design courses are available online for you to learn at a pace that suits you. Every training course is underpinned by research and delivered by our experienced team. DSDC is also able to work with organisations to deliver bespoke training sessions that meet their specific requirements. Our Intersection of Dementia + Design training course provides you with 14 hours’ RIBA CPD. We also offer a free one-hour RIBA CPD approved video which has been specifically designed for anyone working in design and construction.
